Miss the June 30 deadline? It's not too late! Apply for intervener status to become a formal party in the NYSPSC Article VII proceedings.
Why?
Article VII proceedings are open to participation by New York State agencies; municipalities; local environmental, commercial, planning and community/public interest groups; and to individuals who have an interest in the project. As an intervener, you'll have the ability to submit testimony and question the other formal parties -- including NYRI!
Just 4 months ago the Maryland Public Service Commission rejected a similar project (also a privately owned company aiming to build power lines). Strong public opposition was cited as a major consideration in the decision. We need to show the NYSPSC just how strong--and widespread--public opposition to this project is.
How?
To apply for intervener status, you'll need to present your case, in writing, illustrating how this project will affect you and why you want to be involved in the formal proceedings. You can sign up as a group or as an individual, and we've created a form for each method to make things easier:
Group: http://stopnyri.com/actions/letters/group_intervener_request.html
Individual: http://stopnyri.com/actions/letters/individual_intervener_request.html
To make your case, be sure to add a few paragraphs that outline your specific concerns.

P.S. If you requested to be added to the service list or requested party status and haven't heard from the NYSPSC, write immediately to Jeffrey Stockholm, Administrative Law Judge at The Public Service Commission, 3 Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12223-1350.
P.P.S. We've just been informed that the CARI broadcast will be at 7 pm on Monday.
